Christine West Illustration

For as long as I can remember I have been cutting and pasting. My oldest art memories are making cards for birthdays and other celebrations. Many moves and many careers later, I have sold collage cards and larger framed works in shops and galleries, and donated countless works in support of local arts organizations. My medium reflects my admiration for well-designed printed materials and packaging. I have always dreamed of making collages to aid in illustrating an idea, design, or narrating a story.

Through collage I experiment with balance, color, texture, and composition repurposing bits of discarded ephemera that often spark memory, reframe the meaning of the objects’ original intent, and create new narratives. The medium allows for endless play and a 1000 stories yet to be told.

Below are examples of published works. Please let us know if you are interested in commissioning a collage or design for an upcoming project. See more on my instagram @designsw_cwest, and take a look at my Artist Resume for more information.

Do you have a bit of memorabilia you would like to conserve and don’t know how to honor its memory? I’d love to talk with you about how I might transform it into a one-of-a-kind work of art for you to cherish. Samples are below.
