The Brown Papier Bag (BPB) Collage was created by Houston artists, Anasatsia “Stacy” Kirages and Chasity Porter, as a way to engage and educate the community about collage and World Collage Day (WCD). Stacy and Chasity produced 50 bags filled with various forms of ephemera, 40 of which were placed around Houston for finders to join in creating a BPB Collage. I was one of 10 featured artists invited to take part in the project. All participating artists were asked to share their works on Instagram with the tag #bpbcollage. Stacy and Chasity then reposted selected works during the challenge. One of my collages was included in the compilation zine, Brown Papier Bag Collage, produced in 2022, in honor of that year’s upcoming WCD and the 2022 BPB Collage challenge. They also presented at Kolaj Fest in New Orleans that year about the project and working collectively.
